Matt Barber has the same issue with Right Wing Watch that GOProud has with me. Damn those bloggers, always lying about them by quoting them verbatim!

Afternoon View - Right Wing Watch

Folks, meet Right Wing Watch bloggers Brian Tashman and Kyle Mantyla. Between the two of them, they probably provide more JMG video and hate-quote content than any other site I regularly reference. Big props and snaps to them both!

PhoboQuotable - Joseph Farah

"Take a 5,000-year-old institution ordained by God that has worked all over the world and trash it because some a group of sinful, prideful people with no real interest in marriage wants to use it to demonstrate they are 'oppressed.' Keep in mind, it was the federal government that made all this inevitable with the Supreme Court case Lawrence v. Texas, in which it presumed to tell the people of that great republic they had no business enforcing laws against sodomy. Justice Antonin Scalia predicted in short order the ruling would open the door to something unimaginable a decade ago – same-sex marriage. He was right.

"That's how sodomy moved from being a sin 10 years ago to being a 'right.' It's not a right. It's a sin. And, in a civilized, self-governing society, when the majority of people ban sinful behavior – from murder, to theft, to adultery, to child molestation – they have the right and the duty to legislate against it. Courts have no business overruling the will of the people on such matters by dreaming up 'rights' that are to be found nowhere in the Constitution, the Bible or the history of mankind." - World Net Daily founder Joseph Farah, calling for the recriminalization of homosexuality.

Gingrich: U.S. Could Become Secular Atheist Nation Dominated By Islamists

In his warning to an approving church audience, Gingrich doesn't explain how a country can be both atheist and Islamist dominated.

Dominionist Nutjob David Barton: The Bible Is Totally Against Net Neutrality

David Barton, the Seven Mountains whackjob who believes that America should be a Christianist theocracy, says that the Bible outlaws net neutrality. In fact, fairness isn't a concept that Christians should embrace at all.
This is the Fairness Doctrine applied to the Internet, and I’ll go back to what I believed for a long time is: fair is a word no Christian should ever use in their vocabulary. Fair has nothing to do with anything. What you want is justice, you don’t want fairness. Fairness is subjective, what I think is fair, what you think, what happened to Jesus wasn’t fair. That’s right, but we needed justice so God did that for us. This is really, I’m going to use the word wicked stuff, and I don’t use that word very often, but this is wicked stuff.
RELATED: Alarmed by Barton's meteoric popularity among the Tea Party and religious right, Right Wing Watch today issued an exhaustive expose on the man Newt Gingrich Mike Huckabee says Americans should be "forced to listen to at gunpoint." An excerpt:
Barton has been profitably peddling a distorted “Christian nation” version of American history to conservative religious audiences for the past two decades. His books and videos denouncing church-state separation have been repeatedly debunked by respected historians, but that hasn’t kept Barton from becoming a folk hero for many in the Religious Right. His eagerness to help elect Republicans has won him gratitude and support from national as well as state and local GOP leaders. Former senator Sam Brownback, now the governor of Kansas, has said that Barton’s research “provides the philosophical underpinning for a lot of the Republican effort in the country today – bringing God back into the public square.” Indeed, Time Magazine named him one of the nation’s 25 most influential evangelical Christians in 2005.

Iowa Preacher: God Will Totally Destroy America For Allowing Gay Marriage

According to Pastor Cary Gordon of the anti-gay Cornerstone Outreach, Iowa's voters need to go to the ballots to "faithfully choose the same religion-sanctioned state our insufferable political enemies refuse to acknowledge." Cuz if you don't, the loving and almighty Jeebus is gonna kill the fuck out of you. They really need some new material. Starts at 14:00.

Family Research Council Calls For Hate Group Solidarity Against Filthy Queers

Over at Good As You, activist Jeremy Hooper has somehow uncovered a not-yet issued press release from the Family Research Council in which they call for the nation's anti-gay hate groups to stand in solidarity against the Southern Poverty Law Center's designations of anti-gay hate groups.

In today's second death-of-irony alert, the document is titled Start Debating: Stop Hating. Because according to the Family Research Council, we are the haters in this game.

The surest sign one is losing a debate is to resort to character assassination. The Southern Poverty Law Center, a liberal fundraising machine whose tactics have been condemned by observers across the political spectrum, is doing just that.

The group, which was once known for combating racial bigotry, is now attacking several groups that uphold Judeo-Christian moral views, including marriage as the union of a man and a woman. How does the SPLC attack? By labeling its opponents “hate groups.” No discussion. No consideration of the issues. No engagement. No debate

These type of slanderous tactics have been used against voters who signed petitions and voted for marriage amendments in all thirty states that have considered them, as well as against the millions of Americans who identify with the Tea Party movement. Some on the Left have even impugned the Manhattan Declaration-which upholds the sanctity of life, the value of traditional marriage and the fundamental right of religious freedom-as an anti-gay document and have forced its removal from general communications networks.

This is intolerance pure and simple. Elements of the radical Left are trying to shut down informed discussion of policy issues that are being considered by Congress, legislatures, and the courts. Tell the radical Left it is time to stop spreading hateful rhetoric attacking individuals and organizations merely for expressing ideas with which they disagree. Our debates can and must remain civil - but they must never be suppressed through personal assaults that aim only to malign an opponents character.

You can take action by adding your name to the following statement:

We, the undersigned, stand in solidarity with Family Research Council, American Family Association, Concerned Women of America, National Organization for Marriage, Liberty Counsel and other pro-family organizations that are working to protect and promote natural marriage and family. We support the vigorous but responsible exercise of the First Amendment rights of free speech and religious liberty that are the birthright of all Americans.
Over at Right Wing Watch, People For The American Way reminds us exactly who the haters are with a link farm to recent statements by the above-listed groups.

Porno Pete: If You're Not Listed As A Hate Group, You Aren't Hating Hard Enough

Right Wing Watch reports that not only is Porno Pete LaBarbera proud of his SPLC designation as a hater, he says that if a Christianist group didn't make the list, they need to be more hateful.
“We are one of the rare groups that is opposed single-mindedly against the homosexual activist movement,” said LaBarbera, who founded AFTAH in 1996. “The so-called gay lobby has reached the zenith of its power. They are everywhere. I don’t feel like a homophobe; as one guy said, I’m homo-nauseated. They are everywhere. You can’t get away from them, even in the schools, so today we are interviewing Barb Anderson of the Minnesota Family Council.”

Both LaBarbera and Anderson agreed that AFTAH’s recognition by the SPLC is a point of pride. “There’s a lot of hatred out there in the so-called gay lobby,” LaBarbera said. Anderson agreed: “Absolutely. They call us a hate group but the emails and the responses we get from them are just full of anger and hateful comments that they make towards us.” “I think it’s becoming perhaps a badge of honor to be called a hate group,” said Anderson. LaBarbera added, “If you are not on the SPLC hate list, you are not doing enough.”
Petey, we are ALL homos-nauseated.

And This We Pray: Please, Jeebus, Put Christians In Charge Of America

Janet Porter prays that America "recognizes the lie of separation of church and state, which exists only in the Soviet Union." (Soviet Union?) Janet also prays that Jeebus knock some sense into those 19 states without anti-gay marriage laws! Glory! Prai$e Hi$ Name! The donation plate is now being passed!

Snake Eggs & Saddam Hussein

Pastor Chuck Pierce, head wacko of the Glory of Zion International Ministries, says that his prayers to God allowed U.S. troops to capture Saddam Hussein. Right Wing Watch has posted this excerpt from Pierce's book, which recounts a prayer meeting between Rev. Cuckoo and other pastors:
The Lord then showed me a nest of snake eggs. He said "There are four snake eggs that are lying in wait, and from this state I am giving you the power tonight to crush those snake eggs. In this state tonight, you will be able to decree to Babylon that the strongman that has not been found will now be found in the next seven days." Then Pastor Dutch said "Expose him. We declare exposure. We declare the eggs are being crushed under our feet in Jesus' name. Under our feet, under our feet, under our feet. Break it! We say witchcraft is broken that hides him in Jesus' name."

Members of the local pastoral leadership and the national military agreed with the prophetic decree. Pastor Darrell Feemster declared that the Fourth Infantry Division from San Antonino would be blessed to bring down the spirit of Babylon and to raise up a Christian nation in Iraq. Greg Jackson, a representative of the military, proclaimed "As a witness to this prophetic word in this house, as a representative of the Armed Forces in the state of Texas, I declare in the name of the Lord, it shall be!" A roar went up from the crowd. That roar entered the atmosphere and, I believe, traveled by the Spirit of God all the way to Iraq ... Troops from the Fourth Infantry went in and found Saddam Hussein three days later! Even though many were praying around the world, I believe it takes corporate gatherings at times to express God's purpose in the earth. I could see why God had wanted this revelation decreed in San Antonino, Texas.
Pierce's book, The Future War of the Church: How We Can Defeat Lawlessness and Bring God's Order to the Earth, is now available in paperback.

Christianist Preachers Call For 40-Day Fast For Election Of Anti-Gay Candidates

Right Wing Watch tips us to Rev. Jim Garlow and Rev. James Robison calling for a 40-day fast in advance of the midterm elections so that Jeebus will put anti-gay candidates in office. Robison: "I've signed the Manhattan Declaration and I would have signed it in my blood." You might recall Garlow's 2008 claim that "same-sex marriage is worse than terrorism."

God Sent The Oil Spill Because President Obama Has Insulted Israel

So said evangelists Cindy Jacobs and Chuck Pierce in a Generals International webcast caught yesterday by Right Wing Watch, who reports:
Jacobs explains that years ago Bob Jones prophesied years that following the death of Oral Roberts, the Gulf Coast would be hit with an oil spill and two hurricanes. Apparently that prophesy is now coming true and it is because God is angry with Obama's attitude toward Israel. Chuck Piece agreed, but noted that God had sent Hurricane Katrina also because he was upset about the United States' treatment of Israel. God intended Katrina to be a "purifying wind," but the US failed to get the message "so now look at the gunk that's coming up on top of us."
Generals International also co-sponsored Janet Porter's hilariously failed May Day anti-gay rally in Washington DC. Right Wing Watch notes that World Net Daily has also jumped on the God-sent-the-oil-spill meme. The first clip is about the oil spill. In the second, Cindy and Chuck reveal that demonic spirits are attempting to destroy their ministry, but if you SEND THEM MONEY, you can stop Satan right in his cloven-hoofed tracks!
