"If you're going to worry about sexual orientation non-discrimination and pick a day every year to host it, shouldn't that include all sexual orientations, such as former homosexuals," the PFOX executive director questions. "Where are their rights?" So she is encouraging students to distribute her organization's literature in schools today so that the message of hope will reach a hurting community. "By providing resources and educating [students] about the ex-gay community, we are at the same time giving them options," Griggs notes. "But it is an option, and only they can make the decision." But while she does not think students should be denied any information that allows them to make decisions, she laments that that is "what's happening in America's schools."Even though the members of PFOX were doubtlessly bullied and abused as gay teenagers, they want that same abuse to continue for today's children. What's the word for that?

PFOX: "Ex-Gay" Is An Orientation
Sabtu, 05 Maret 2011
HomoQuotable - Christopher Doyle
RELATED: You might recall that I had a brief encounter with Doyle in the parking lot of last year's evil NARTH convention, where he was supporting a group that spreads the most repulsive lies about gay people imaginable. But don't you dare put "ex-gay" in quotes.

World Bank Ditches PFOX (Sort Of)
Last week Metro Weekly reported that World Bank had added the nasty "ex-gays" at PFOX to their list of charities for whom they'd match any donations by employees. Following a petition campaign spearheaded by Truth Wins Out and Change.org, today World Bank issued this rule change. For this year's Community Connections Campaign, Bank-matching funds will be provided to those organizations that have, through prior participation, established a track record of support with staff. Organizations that have come on the list this year will not be offered matching funds in this year's campaign, though the Bank will match any contribution that has been made to this latter group prior to today, November 15, 2010. We will review the new organizations after one year, to see if they have the staff and community support to warrant a match in the FY12 campaign.Metro Weekly's Chris Geidner sums up: "That means that, while employees will continue to be able to select PFOX for their contributions this year, the World Bank -- because PFOX is new to the list this year -- will only provide matching funds for donations to the group made before today."
Now we'll have to see if PFOX makes next year's list.

World Bank Donates To "Ex-Gays" At PFOX
World Bank, whose stated mission is ending poverty through loans to developing countries, has listed the "ex-gay" group PFOX as a suggested group for charity giving by its employees. World Bank matches employee donations at rates from 50-100% and places PFOX directly above PFLAG on its list of endorsed charities. Chris Geidner reports at Metro Weekly:PFOX supports so-called ''conversion'' therapy – by which people who identify as gay attempt to become ex-gay – and the National Association for Reparative Therapy (NARTH), specifically. One of the few videos on the PFOX YouTube channel is a video of an interview with former NARTH president Dr. Joseph Nicolosi. Another shows a televised debate between PFOX's Peter Sprigg and Truth Wins Out executive director Wayne Besen, who has been writing about the ex-gay organizations for more than a decade. Besen told Metro Weekly on Wednesday afternoon, "It's as sickening as it is scandalous." Besen said that the former president of PFOX, Richard Cohen – who Besen described as "the guru of the organization to this day" – runs the International Healing Foundation and "sent his protégé to Uganda – and what came from that was the Anti-Homosexuality Bill" that has been the subject of intense worldwide scrutiny and criticism. "Here's this group that is tied to what can only be described as an eliminationist campaign, worldwide, against gay people," Besen said, "and they're receiving money from the World Bank?"The self-haters at PFOX will now be able to tout their relationship with World Bank as they attempt to legitimize their campaign against their own people. Unbelievable. Read Chris Geidner's complete expose on this travesty.

Porno Pete To Ann Coulter: Give Your GOProud Money To Anti-Gay Hate Groups
"We at AFTAH have an idea: how about if Coulter donates her GOProud speaking fee to two worthy pro-family organizations whose mission (we hope) Coulter agrees with more than that of the phony 'conservatives' over at GOProud, who put 'gay rights' above traditional values. Here are two wonderful groups that could benefit from GOProud’s cash (via Coulter):* Elaine Donnelly’s Center for Military Readiness, which has led the way in battling President Obama’s reckless plan to homosexualize the U.S. military in a time of war (GOProud supports the Democrat-led effort to repeal the ban on open homosexuals in the military)"If Coulter insists on going forward with the GOProud speech — even though the organization supports many of the same homosexual-agenda goals of other 'gay' activist groups, then maybe she can make it count for some good by helping to sustain the noble work of these two fine organizations." - Porno Pete LaBarbera, writing from his dildo-strewn basement dungeon in suburban Chicago.
* Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays (PFOX) — this worthy yet perpetually underfunded organization stands up for the rights of former homosexuals — who regularly get demonized and sometimes bullied by the supposedly “tolerant” Homosexual Activist Lobby.

Self-Hating "Ex-Gay" Nutter Greg Quinlan: I Was Not A Limp-Wristed Faggot
Besen notes that while Quinlan claims to have once worked for the Human Rights Campaign, nobody at the organization can recall his ever having done so.The presentation was packed with misinformation, crude stereotypes and a healthy dose of gay bashing. Quinlan punctuated his sermon by claiming he wasn’t a limp wristed, flaming faggot, even while shining oh-so brightly onstage.
“I wasn’t your flaming faggot, you know. I can say that because I’ve been there and done that. You know, the one’s whose wrists are so limp that when the wind blows they slap themselves in the face. I wasn’t one of them,” Quinlan said, as the small audience chuckled. (8:00—8:13)
This was an interesting observation by Quinlan, given that he describes during his talk how he walked into an Assemblies of God church with bleach blond hair and a mullet. Yes, he sounds like a paragon of masculinity. I’m not sure whether to be offended by his comments or feel sorry for a man who is clearly in denial and deeply ashamed about his gender expression. It is sad that Quinlan can’t accept himself and instead has to resort to bashing people who look and sound exactly like he does.

HomoQuotable - Greg Quinlan
"Could it be that [Elana] Kagan is ex-gay? That would explain the White House insistence on Kagan's heterosexuality and Kagan's silence about her past sexual preference. As an ex-gay myself, I sympathize with Kagan and the Obama administration. I have had to face taunts, threats, and phone calls to my employer demanding that I be fired. There is no hate like that directed against the ex-gay community. And the President knows it."When he was campaigning, Obama was criticized by gay activists for allowing ex-gay gospel singer Donnie McClurkin to perform at a fundraiser. They insisted that Obama drop McClurkin from the program. To his credit, Obama refused. So Ms. Kagan, do not be afraid to come out of the closet. Regardless of our political differences, ex-gays like me, and maybe you, should be able to live openly just like when we were homosexuals."- PFOX president Greg Quinlan.

Porno Pete LaBarbera Announces Training Academy For Young Haters
Porno Pete LaBarbera has just announced the formation of the "Americans For Truth Academy," which will train young people how to properly hate faggots and dykes and foster violent crimes against them. For a mere $99 donation, you can buy a budding young bigot a Scholarship In Hate™.We’re delighted to announce the debut of our ongoing “Americans For Truth Academy,” designed to train young people (as well as older pro-family advocates) how to answer “gay” activist misinformation and fight the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda. Below is a flier with the basic information. Please consider sponsoring a student to attend for $99 or attending yourself. Rarely will you get a chance to learn from such brilliant teachers on the homosexual issue all in one rigorous seminar. his August 5-7, AFTAH will bring together some of the country’s leading pro-family experts on homosexuality to teach both young and old how to answer the lies and myths that so readily emanate from the “GLBT” (“gay”) camp. I am very excited about this new project’s potential to reverse years of pro-”gay” brainwashing in the schools and popular culture — corrupting the hearts and minds of our young people. Let’s face it: much of the conservative establishment has dropped the ball on fighting the homosexual agenda (or given up entirely), so AFTAH is stepping up to train a new generations of activists to contend with the sexual sin movement that has fooled so many Americans into treating a human wrong — changeable same-sex behavior — as a “civil right.” Please help us make this future-oriented event possible with your tax-deductible donation to Americans For Truth. The usual cast of knuckle-dragging douchenozzles have signed on to be LaBarbera's Professors of Hate: Robert Knight (Coral Ridge Ministries), Matt Barber (Liberty Counsel), Laurie Higgins (Illinois Family Institute), Greg Quinlan (PFOX), etc. The first Three Day Hate™ will take place August 5th-7th in Porno Pete's luxuriously appointed basement dungeon headquarters outside of Chicago.

PFOX Complains: The PTA Won't Let Bigots Like Us Come To Their Convention!
"Ex-gay" group PFOX is stamping their widdle footies because the PTA says they don't allow hate groups to come to their national convention. PFOX says they called and emailed for eight months, requesting a booth at the convention, only to finally be told they don't meet the PTA's standards. Via Christian Newswire:"Why is it gay groups meet the PTA Diversity and Inclusion Policy but our families do not? 'Diversity' and 'inclusion' should mean exactly that -- diversity and inclusion of everyone," said [PFOX head Regina] Griggs. "Instead, gay groups like PFLAG that deny public access to ex-gays and disrupt church events welcoming former homosexuals are approved by the PTA while ex-gay groups are not," said Griggs. "Now the PTA is pressuring its state PTA chapters nationwide to adopt its biased national diversity policy, which includes 'sexual orientation,' even though that term is selectively used to discriminate against people of faith and ex-gay families." "The PTA has become a left-wing advocacy group instead of serving the needs of all children," said Griggs.PFOX is asking for concerned Christians to join in an email campaign to the national and local chapters of the PTA demanding that they rescind their sexual orientation non-discrimination policy until it includes the orientation of "ex-gay." Or "totally kidding themselves," as it is more properly known.

"Ms. Nooyi, you lead PepsiCo’s Diversity and Inclusion Governance Council. I don’t want to hear any more words from you about diversity and inclusion -- I want you to actually practice it. As for Peggy Moore, who represents PepsiCo on the PFLAG Board Workplace Diversity Committee, she should be fired because she doesn’t know the first thing about diversity if she can’t respect people like me. And PepsiCo should resign immediately from PFLAG’s so-called Diversity Committee. Why would PepsiCo sit on a committee that defines diversity to only include those people whose religious ideology they agree with?"Ms. Nooyi and PepsiCo Board of Directors, do you make these decisions because of replicated scientific studies supporting specific biological etiology for homosexuality? I can answer that for you. You can’t because there is zero evidence. ZERO that anyone is born homosexual. Once again, I urge the PepsiCo Board of Directors, yes; each and every one of you, to do your jobs and hold PepsiCo to the ideals and standards it claims to follow. I shouldn’t have to come here year after year asking PepsiCo to stop funding hate against people like me. " PFOX president Greg Quinlan, screaming to PepsiCo's board of directors at their annual shareholders meeting.
"Ex-gay" loser Quinlan has his delicate, finely-laced pink panties in a twist because PepsiCo has contributed to PFLAG and the Human Rights Campaign.

DC's Capital Pride On Fenty/PFOX Flap
Washington DC's Capital Pride has issued a statement regarding the calls by some activists for Mayor Adrian to be disinvited to the parade. Last month it was learned that Fenty's office had accidentally honored the founder of the "ex-gay" group PFOX.In recent days, there has been a public call to “un-invite” Mayor Adrian Fenty from Capital Pride festivities. While Capital Pride feels that PFOX and its mission are harmful to our community and our families in Washington, D.C., Mayor Fenty, all elected officials, and all of those running for office are always welcome to join in the celebration of Capital Pride. Everyone who supports equality for LGBT people in the Washington, D.C. area is welcome to attend and participate in Capital Pride’s 35th Anniversary Celebration, June 4th -13th. After 35 years, you ain’t seen nothing, yet!

Group Demands DC Mayor Adrian Fenty Be Uninvited From Pride Over PFOX Flap
Led by activist Lane Hudson, a group of activists is saying that DC Mayor Adrian Fenty should be uninvited for this year's pride celebration unless he apologizes for the accidental recognition of the "good work" of the "ex-gay" group, PFOX. From their Facebook page: Six months after the Certificate was discovered, a spokesperson from the Mayor's office blamed a "low level staff error" for the Certificate. However, the Mayor has been silent on the issue and refuses to apologize and retract this Certificate. This is a serious matter and must be addressed in a serious way by the Mayor. His refusal to take responsibility is a complete abdication of leadership. We as a community must stand up to anyone that gives credence to harmful organizations like PFOX. Please join others who are demanding that Mayor Adrian Fenty be un-invited from participation in Capital Pride until all three of the following conditions are met:The certificate of appreciation to PFOX was issued last November, but only came to the attention of the LGBT blogosphere last week.
1) Formally retract this Certificate of Appreciation
2) Personally take responsibility for your office's actions instead of blaming a "staff level error"
3) Issue a statement condemning PFOX.

Why Did DC Honor "Ex-Gay" Group PFOX?
Christian Newswire is crowing this morning about a certificate of appreciation given to the leader of the nasty "ex-gay" group PFOX by DC Mayor Adrian Fenty. The government of the District of Columbia has awarded a certificate of appreciation to Regina Griggs, executive director of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX). The certificate, signed by D.C. mayor Adrian Fenty, recognizes Griggs for her "dedication, commitment, and outstanding contributions as Executive Director of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays." "Regina's award is well-deserved," said Greg Quinlan, President of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays. PFOX presented the award to Griggs last week in honor of her ten years of volunteer service to parents and the ex- gay community. "Regina has served as executive director without pay. Instead, she prefers that donations be used to develop resources for families and teens, to promote unconditional love for all regardless of sexual orientation, and to seek equal access and protection for the ex-gay community," said Quinlan. "Her dedication is unparalleled."The Gay & Lesbian Activist Alliance of Washington DC is NOT happy.
In an open letter addressed to Mafara Hobson, spokesperson of the mayor's office, Rick Rosendall, vice president of political affairs for GLAA, says: ''PFOX is notorious as a purveyor of junk science which constitutes an ongoing slander against gay people. ''GLAA in the past has defended PFOX's First Amendment right to express its noxious views, but PFOX certainly does not deserve any honor or recognition from our Mayor.'' Rosendall goes on to request three things: an explanation of the honor, a rejection of the ''ex-gay'' movement from Fenty, and a description of what Fenty plans to do to undo the perception that he approves of PFOX's mission. ''Given the Mayor's record of support for gay families,'' Rosendall adds, ''it is painful to see him honor someone with the pernicious record of a Regina Griggs.''Seriously, Fenty. WTF?
UPDATE: The Washington Post reports that Fenty has issued an apology.
D.C. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty apologized Thursday over his decision to issue a certificate of appreciation honoring the leader of the ex-gay movement, which believes homosexuals can be rehabilitated. Fenty’s statement comes one day after local and national gay-rights leaders demanded to know why Fenty honored Regina Griggs, executive director of the Parents and Friends of ExGays and Gays. Mafara Hobson, a Fenty spokeswoman, called Griggs’ award a “staff-level error.” “We apologize for the error as it runs contrary to the mayor’s vision of a more open and inclusive city,” Hobson said. “The mayor is proud of his ardent support of the LGBT community.”

CA Assembly Ends Search For "Gay Cure"
By unanimous vote, the California Assembly has repealed the archaic law requiring research into a "cure" for homosexuality. Part of a decades-old state law that characterized homosexuality as a sexual deviation that must be cured is no longer on the books. The law was written in 1950 and classifies gay people as sexual deviants. It requires the state to conduct research to find the causes of sex crimes against children and singles out homosexuals as a group that should be researched. The department no longer conducts such research, but the law remained on the books. Assemblywoman Bonnie Lowenthal, D-Long Beach, said the changes make the law read as it should have 60 years ago. She said California is now "setting things right."The bill now goes to the state Senate. "Ex-gay" lunatics PFOX continue to oppose the repeal.

PFOX: Give Our Flier Out At Day Of Silence
"Ex-gay" group PFOX wants their anti-gay flier given out at any school that participates in GLSEN's Day Of Silence this Friday. Their flier (PDF) reads in part: Every year thousands of people with unwanted same-sex attractions make the personal decision to leave a gay identity through non-judgmental environments. Their decision is one only they can make. However, there are those in society who refuse to respect an individual’s right to self-determination. Consequently, formerly gay men and women are subjected to verbal and physical attacks simply because they dare to exist. Ex-gays and their supporters are denied equal access and support, forcing them to remain silent for fear of negative reactions and disapproval, while gays are affirmed for their decision to come out as gay. Former homosexuals do not think something is wrong with them because they decided to fulfill their heterosexual potential by overcoming unwanted same-sex attractions."Ex-gays" are physically assaulted because they claim to be former homosexuals? When in the history of the entire fucking world has this EVER HAPPENED?

"We now know that Pepsi has given over a million dollars to the Human Rights Campaign and to another hate group called PFLAG, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays -- an organization that tells parents that their children are born homosexual. Therefore they must accept them and that the only way to love them is to accept, embrace that homosexual lifestyle. This is extremely troubling because now what is happening is that the PepsiCo Corporation is using our money -- whether you're a shareholder or whether you're a customer -- [they're] using your money to promote hate against Christians and other people of faith." - PFOX "ex-gay" spokesdouche Greg Quinlan, who plans on confronting Pepsi executives at their annual stockholders meeting.
