Crimes Against Nature
On Tuesday I posted a map showing which states still have anti-sodomy laws on the books. In the clip below, Russia Today examines how those antiquated laws are using against Louisiana's sex workers, who are often forced to register as sex offenders.

Today In Frivolous Lawsuits
A New York college student is suing a Vegas hooker for $1.8M because she only stayed for thirty minutes instead of the agreed upon full hour.
Unhappy customer Hubert Blackman said he was traumatized by the "tragic event," especially when he called cops and they threatened to bust him, the Las Vegas Sun reported Thursday. "I also would like to get my $275 payment back and a $1.8 million verdict for the tragic event that happened," Blackman said in the suit filed in Manhattan Federal Court, the paper said.Blackman says he thought prostitution was legal in Las Vegas, hence the call to the cops.

Ted Haggard Gets A Reality Show

Ted Haggard is coming to TLC. The controversial Christian evangelical is getting his own reality project on the cable network. Ted Haggard: Scandalous will air as a one-hour special on the network. The special, produced by RelativityReal and debuting Jan. 16, follows Haggard as he announces his new ministry in Colorado Springs, Colo. — the same town he left after the scandal. Naturally, if the special performs well, TLC might expand the concept into a full series.Remember, Ted Haggard is completely heterosexual.

Quote Of The Day - Tony Perkins

"This is a deliberately timed smear campaign by the SPLC. The Left is losing the debate over ideas and the direction of public policy so all that is left for them is character assassination. It's a sad day in America when we can not, with integrity, have a legitimate discussion over policy issues that are being considered by Congress, legislatures, and the courts without resorting to juvenile tactics of name calling.
"The Left's smear campaigns of conservatives is also being driven by the clear evidence that the American public is losing patience with their radical policy agenda as seen in the recent election and in the fact that every state, currently more than thirty, that has had the opportunity to defend the natural definition of marriage has done so. Earlier this month, voters in Iowa sent a powerful message when they removed three Supreme Court justices who imposed same-sex marriage on the state. Would the SPLC also smear the good people of Iowa?
"Family Research Council will continue to champion marriage and family as the foundation of our society and will not acquiesce to those seeking to silence the Judeo-Christian views held by millions of Americans. We call on the Southern Poverty Law Center to apologize for this slanderous attack and attempted character assassination." - Family Research Council president Tony Perkins.
Notice how all these reactions are coming on Thanksgiving, when none of their followers will hear about it?

Attack Ad Of The Year
Dan Savage weighs in on Diaper Boy.
David Vitter, of course, is a whoremonger and a conservative Christian who supports "family values." But Vitter is right with God and right with his constituents—and will most likely get his rightwing ass reelected—because, you see, he at least has the decency to hate the homos. Vitter supports a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, opposes the repeal of DADT, the passage of ENDA, and on and on. Just as New York's Carl Paladino can style himself as a faithful Catholic—never mind his extramarital affair, his lovechild, his mistress—because he hates the gays (at least the grinders in Speedos), Vitter is a "good" Christian despite the philandering because he hates the gays. They set the bar pretty low for themselves, don't they? Hate the gays and you're right with God and right with Republicans. No personal sacrifices required.

LOUISIANA: Sen. David "Diaper Boy" Vitter Signs Tea Party Morality Pledge

I hereby pledge to: Support and defend the U.S. Constitution as originally intended by the Founders and as explained in the "Federalist Papers." Act in a fiscally responsible manner: Decrease the size and scope of government on all levels--localstate, and federal; Decrease spending on all levels--local, state and federal; Work toward a balanced budget. Support the free market by lower taxes and fees on businesses and individuals: support only those regulations that enhance competition. Conduct myself personally and professionally in a moral and socially appropriate manner.Somebody just made a hypocrisy boom-boom in their diaper.

LOUISIANA: Teabagger Challenges Sen. David "Diaper Boy" Vitter To Cage Match

"In early America, when a politician insulted the honor of another, a duel was in order. Consider this challenge a modern-day duel," Spears said. "Sen. Vitter's behavior, his admission of breaking the law in 2007, has insulted the honor of the people of Louisiana." Spears, 46, said he wants three rounds with Vitter on Oct. 16 at the Cajundome in Lafayette. "This fight will symbolize the epic battle between the American people and an out-of-control, tyrannical federal government and the reckless politicians at the helm," he said. Spears said he has no previous experience in mixed martial arts, but that he is prepared to go up against a "standby fighter" on the off chance that Vitter declines the challenge.Vitter, who is married, was listed a customer in the black book of the infamous (and deceased) DC Madam. According to hooker lore, Vitter enjoys "adult baby" play including the wearing of diapers.

Craigslist Pulls Hooker Ads

Craigslist did not announce the move and its blog was not updated as of Saturday morning. Craigslist did not immediately respond to email and voice mail messages seeking comment. The change comes as the service faces growing pressure in the U.S. over sex services advertised on its classifieds network, as well as allegations that it abets in human sex trafficking. The stakes were raised again last week, when the company received a letter from 17 state attorneys general demanding it immediately shut down its adult services listing, citing the case of two girls who said last month that they were trafficked for sex through the site. If Craigslist has bowed to public pressure that would signal a major shift in the company’s strategy. According the AIM Group, Craigslist’s adult services section accounts for 30 percent of its overall revenue — a projected $36.6 million in 2010 out of $122 million. More than half the company’s revenue comes from recruitment advertising and about 17 percent (almost $21 million) comes from apartment ads in New York City, the AIM Group estimates.

DNC Issues Attack On Hooker Patron GOP Sen. David "Diaper Boy" Vitter
Last week Sen. David "Diaper Boy" Vitter easily won the GOP primary in Louisiana despite having been named in 2007 as a regular patron of the famed DC Madam. Vitter later admitted to patronizing prostitutes and committing adultery, but since he's a hard-right conservative "sanctity of marriage" defender, the GOP has given him a pass. Watch the DNC's "suspense thriller" about Vitter's secret life.

Focus On The Family Cites George "Rentboy" Rekers In Anti-Bullying Attack

You read that right. Our “beloved” solicitor of “luggage lifters,” George Rekers. Even after the scandal involving the rentboy and the knowledge that his very presence at anti-gay judicial cases almost ensures victories of the lgbt community (due to the fact that judges don’t find him credible), Cushman and Focus on the Family still think of him as a credible source when it comes to LGBT issues. The big irony is that Cushman contends that Focus on the Family wants to establish an anti-bullying program to help all students. I find that hard to believe on so many levels. The citation of Rekers as a reliable source is one reason. The entire campaign in general is another.Shortly after the Rekers scandal broke, he resigned from the "ex-gay" group NARTH. And the Family Research Council tried to pretend they'd never heard of him, even though he was listed on their site's "about" page as one of FRC's co-founders.
