Crimes Against Nature

On Tuesday I posted a map showing which states still have anti-sodomy laws on the books. In the clip below, Russia Today examines how those antiquated laws are using against Louisiana's sex workers, who are often forced to register as sex offenders.

Tony Perkins Is Angry That Students Don't Like His Anti-Gay Hate Speeches

"Apparently, 'objectionable' is in the eye of the beholder. I experienced that first-hand on Friday when I was invited to speak at my alma mater in Baton Rouge. As a graduate of the Public Administration program at Louisiana State University, I've spoken in class before. This time, I was met by about 50 homosexual activists with signs and bullhorns demanding that I be kicked off campus because of my 'anti-gay' views. But the intolerance from outside quickly spilled into the Q&A, which was dominated by a few openly homosexual students and sympathizers who wanted to debate 'gay rights' and make clear that 'opposing' views had no validity--regardless of the evidence to the contrary.

"Following the lecture, several students did express appreciation for the substance of my lecture and my response to the verbal assaults. Unfortunately, even though the majority of people disagree with what the homosexual activists are saying and doing, they're afraid to be censured by the boisterous minority so they remain silent. And that's the real end game." - Family Research Council head Tony Perkins, in a press release denouncing the attempt to have the Exodus app removed from the iPhone store.

NEW ORLEANS: Anti-Gay Pastor Grant Storms Busted As Pedophile Pervert

New Orleans' infamous Pastor Grant Storms, who every year can be found shouting hellfire and brimstone at Southern Decadence attendees, has been arrested for masturbating in his van while watching children in a playground.
Storms told deputies that he was merely having lunch at Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Blvd., in his van when he decided to relieve himself using a bottle instead of using the restroom, an incident report said. But two witnesses said they saw Storms through the open windows of his van masturbating himself while watching children on the playground, the report said. The two women flagged down a park employee who notified the Sheriff's Office. The employee also detained Storms until deputies arrived. Bond for Storms was set at $5,000. But he was released from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna on Sunday because of overcrowding at the jail. Armed with bullhorns, Bibles and picket signs, Storms and a group of followers in 2003 protested against Southern Decadence, the gay three-day festival held over Labor Day weekend in the French Quarter. Storms' efforts prompted the New Orleans City Council to ban megaphones and other amplification devices.
Storms has actually held anti-gay "purity" parades through the French Quarter during Southern Decadence. But not, we're guessing, this year!

Attack Ad Of The Year

Dan Savage weighs in on Diaper Boy.

David Vitter, of course, is a whoremonger and a conservative Christian who supports "family values." But Vitter is right with God and right with his constituents—and will most likely get his rightwing ass reelected—because, you see, he at least has the decency to hate the homos. Vitter supports a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, opposes the repeal of DADT, the passage of ENDA, and on and on. Just as New York's Carl Paladino can style himself as a faithful Catholic—never mind his extramarital affair, his lovechild, his mistress—because he hates the gays (at least the grinders in Speedos), Vitter is a "good" Christian despite the philandering because he hates the gays. They set the bar pretty low for themselves, don't they? Hate the gays and you're right with God and right with Republicans. No personal sacrifices required.

Hooker Patron Sen. David "Diaper Boy" Vitter Poised To Easily Retain Seat

The voters of Louisiana are clearly unconcerned with the admitted hooker patronage of "sanctity of marriage" defender, conservative Christian, and serial adulterer Sen. David "Diaper Boy" Vitter. As one of the Senate's chief sponsors of the (failed) Federal Marriage Amendment, Vitter called the banning of same-sex marriage "the most important issue" before Congress. He also said that gay marriage would wreak a devastation on Louisiana comparable to hurricanes Katrina and Rita. And then he pulled $500 from the ATM, put on his diaper, and called Mistress Kandi.

LOUISIANA: Teabagger Challenges Sen. David "Diaper Boy" Vitter To Cage Match

Tea Party candidate Mike Spears has challenged Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) to a cage match over Vitter's admission that he has patronized prostitutes.
"In early America, when a politician insulted the honor of another, a duel was in order. Consider this challenge a modern-day duel," Spears said. "Sen. Vitter's behavior, his admission of breaking the law in 2007, has insulted the honor of the people of Louisiana." Spears, 46, said he wants three rounds with Vitter on Oct. 16 at the Cajundome in Lafayette. "This fight will symbolize the epic battle between the American people and an out-of-control, tyrannical federal government and the reckless politicians at the helm," he said. Spears said he has no previous experience in mixed martial arts, but that he is prepared to go up against a "standby fighter" on the off chance that Vitter declines the challenge.
Vitter, who is married, was listed a customer in the black book of the infamous (and deceased) DC Madam. According to hooker lore, Vitter enjoys "adult baby" play including the wearing of diapers.

The Oil Is Leaking Again

After a few days of seeming success, the capping attempt appears to be failing.
The federal government Monday allowed BP to keep the cap shut tight on its ruptured Gulf of Mexico oil well for another day despite news the well is leaking at the top and something is seeping from the sea floor nearby. The Obama administration's point man for the spill, retired Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, said early Monday that the company promised to watch closely for signs of new leaks around the mile-deep well, which has stopped gushing oil into the water since the experimental cap was closed Thursday. Late Sunday, Allen said something was detected seeping near the broken oil well and demanded in a sharply worded letter that BP step up monitoring of the ocean floor. Allen didn't say what was seeping. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Monday afternoon the seepage was about two miles from the well head. He also said the well head is leaking.
And some improvement in water quality was already being seen. Heavy sigh.

Gulf Oil Well Appears To Be Capped

The Coast Guard is saying today that it appears yesterday's "top kill" attempt to cap the spewing oil spill in the Gulf may have worked.
Engineers have succeeded in stopping the flow of oil and gas into the Gulf of Mexico from a gushing BP well, the federal government's top oil spill commander, Adm. Thad Allen, said Thursday morning. The so-called "top kill" effort, launched Wednesday afternoon by industry and government engineers in Houston, has pumped enough drilling fluid to block all oil and gas from the well, Allen said. The pressure from the well is very low, but persistent, he said. Once engineers have reduced the well pressure to zero, they will begin to pump cement into the hole to entomb the well. To help that effort, he said, engineers are also pumping some debris into the blowout preventer at the top of the well. Allen said one ship that was pumping fluid into the well has run out of the fluid, or "mud," and that a second ship is on the way. He said he was encouraged by the progress. "We'll get this under control," he said.

Obama Administration: We're Doing Everything We Can On Gulf Oil Spill

And yet millions of gallons are continuing to spew after more than a month. Meanwhile some are calling for the government to kick British Petroleum off the response team.

Brother Slim

Toting a sign that reads "Adult w/Child Sex Is Okay," a pastor who calls himself "Brother Slim" is touring cities in the south to highlight his claim that same-sex marriage will lead to legalized pedophilia, bestiality, etc etc. This week he's in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Chauncey Killens has traveled through a dozen other cities holding this sign - he says he opposes adults having sex with children, just like he opposes gay marriage – the real reason he's here. "Once you allow same sex marriage, it's only inevitable that the other groups are also going to fight for their rights," said Killens. He sees gay marriage as a slippery slope, and at the bottom of the hill would be laws passed in favor of groups like NAMBLA- the North American Man Boy Love Association. "You're going to have to allow polygamy, incest, bestiality pedophiles," said Killens. "I'm just trying to figure out what this is about," said another bystander. The sign acts as a spark to a fiery debate Killens almost seems desperate for. "I want to agitate people, wake them up," said Killens.
There's news video of this jackass at the link and he's got some typically asinine clips on YouTube.. Killens has also appeared at pro-Prop 8 rallies in California.

LOUISIANA: Fishermen Sue British Petroleum Over Gulf Oil Spill Disaster

Louisiana-based shrimp fishermen have filed an economics damages suit against British Petroleum, Halliburton, and the owners of the oil rig that has caused one of the greatest environmental disasters in recent memory.
The lawsuit was filed late on Wednesday in U.S. District Court in New Orleans as London-based BP and the U.S. Coast Guard fought to contain a massive oil slick expected to hit the Gulf Coast on Friday. The suit was filed on behalf of two commercial shrimp fishermen named in the suit, and all other coastal Louisiana residents whose livelihoods are threatened by the spill. The Coast Guard estimates that 5,000 barrels (210,000 gallons) of crude oil a day is gushing from the sea floor where the blowout occurred, and authorities have said it could take weeks to cap the leak as BP mounts what it calls the largest oil spill containment operation in history. The suit names as defendants BP, which holds the lease to the offshore well; Swiss-based Transocean Ltd, owner of the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform that exploded in flames on April 20 and collapsed two days later; and Halliburton Energy Services, which the suit says was engaging in cementing operations of the well and well cap.
Yesterday the Coast Guard began burning off the oil in an attempt to reduce the amount that reaches the fragile waters of the Mississippi delta.
