CPAC has published the agenda for next month's conference, where attendance will be greatly diminished thanks to all the reich-wing groups that won't be seen in the same room as GOProud. (We wouldn't either!) Still, there's a fair representation of evil here, including Crazy Eyes, Harry Jackson, Rick Santorum, and Elaine Donnelly. Meeting topics include how to stop gay marriage and how to stop the repeal of DADT. But remember, GOProud says it's easier to be a conservative at CPAC than it is to be a homocon among gays. So it's interesting that their name appears nowhere on the agenda, innit?
Sen. Jim DeMint has joined the boycott of CPAC 2011 because of GOProud's sponsorship, prompting the above image by Facebooker Tracy Knauss. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has also backed out of attending, although he won't say why. At the current rate of defections, the nation's "largest annual conservative conference" will by attended by nobody but GOProud and the NRA. Wingnut infighting is hilarious.
"The point is to welcome people into the big tent. I'm working on getting a venue. The first annual Roy Cohn CPAC Breitbart Homocon Welcoming 80's Extravaganza. I'm thinking of DJ-ing." - Wingnut commentator Andrew Breitbart, invoking the name of the most detested self-loathing homosexual in history to describe the party he says he'll throw for GOProud at this year's CPAC.With the Conservative Political Action Conference under fire for allowing participation by a homosexual activist group called GOProud and for a financial scandal in which some $400,000 was misappropriated under the watch of current leadership, Frank Gaffney, a leader of the conservative movement for the last 30 years, charges that CPAC has come under the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is working to bring America under Saudi-style Shariah law. Gaffney, deputy assistant secretary of defense under Ronald Reagan, is founder and president of the Center for Security Policy and co-author of the new book "Shariah: The Threat to America." He told WND that Islamism has infiltrated the American Conservative Union, the host of CPAC, in the person of Washington attorney and political activist Suhail Khan and a group called Muslims for America.RELATED: Among the groups boycotting CPAC 2011 over GOProud's sponsorship are the Concernstipated Women For America and the Family Research Council.
In November, the far-right American Principles Project instigated the CPAC boycott over GOProud’s involvement back in November, and groups such as American Values, Capital Research Center, the Center for Military Readiness, Liberty Counsel, Liberty University, and the National Organization for Marriage followed the APP’s lead in boycotting the conference. Today, WorldNetDaily, which has provided support for the boycott movement, reports that the Family Research Council and Concerned Women For America have decided to boycott CPAC. FRC and CWA are easily the largest groups to join the boycott movement, and FRC hosts a similar conference that is geared to Religious Right activists, the Values Voter Summit.Porno Pete LaBarbara celebrates: "It is gratifying to see FRC and CWA respond appropriately to CPAC's moral sellout of allowing GOProud as a sponsor. By bringing in GOProud, CPAC was effectively saying moral opposition to homosexuality is no longer welcome in the conservative movement."
GOProud has denounced the backers of the boycott as a "pro-immigration amnesty" group.
