MINNEAPOLIS: Scumbag Wingnut Liar Andrew Breitbart Tries To Crash Netroots

King of the scumbags (and GOProud backer) Andrew Breitbart, who famously crashed the press conference of Anthony Weiner, was up to his old tricks this afternoon at Netroots Nation.

There will be no Weiner-style gatecrashing from Andrew Breitbart at the Netroots Nation conference here. That is, unless Breitbart wants to pony up $355 for a ticket. With the annual conservative Right Online conference just down the street from Netroots Nation, it was inevitable that some sort of shenanigan would occur in Minneapolis this week. And so it did, early Friday afternoon when Breitbart, camera crew in tow, showed up at Netroots unannounced and uncredentialed.

As he no doubt expected, the conservative blogger was immediately accosted by an angry progressive with a Flip cam when he stepped off the escalators at the Minneapolis Convention Center, where Netroots is being held. The attendee yelled in Breitbart's face, demanding he answer questions like "have you ever used cocaine?" and "why are you so fixated on gay magazines?" Breitbart yelled back at the guy, refusing to answer. Eventually Breitbart's security detail pulled him away and sent him toward the entrance to the conference. He was rebuffed by staffers, who denied him entry because he didn't have a credential.

Talking Points Memo reports that Breitbart left visibly "thrilled" by the incident.

UPDATE: Note how the wingnuts are already spinning this. You might recall escaped mental patient Jim Hoft (below) as the blogger who claimed the Obama administration was using a Jumbrotron to instruct the audience to applaud at the Tuscon shooting memorial.

Wingnuts To "Crash" Netroots Nation

A long list of repulsive anti-gay scumbags will gather here in Minneapolis this weekend "in defiance" of the Netroots Nation convention. Confirmed to attend: Andrew Breitbart, Michelle Malkin, Michele "Crazy Eyes" Bachmann, Tim Pawlenty, Herman "Gays Are Sinners" Cain, Virginia AG Ken Cuccinelli, and GOProud's Jimmy LaSalvia. GOProud won't be allowed to actually participate, of course, but they'll be holding a happy hour in one of the Netroots host hotels. (This one, in fact. Hmm, about that JMG meetup...)

A multitude of different inside sources both publicly and privately, including one individual who personally worked with Bin Laden at one time, told us directly that Osama’s dead corpse has been on ice for nearly a decade and that his “death” would only be announced at the most politically expedient time. That time has now come with a years-old fake picture being presented as the only evidence of his alleged killing yesterday, while Bin Laden’s body has been hastily dumped into the sea to prevent anyone from finding out when he actually died.

Among the prominent promulgators of this nonsense is GOProud backer Andrew Breitbart, whose Big Government site now features death conspiracy posts. Breitbart says he's not a "friggin' deather," he just wants to promote "open debate." Uh huh.

UPDATE: JMG reader Russ points out this Breitbart quote: "If anyone can prove that I believe American special forces did not kill Osama bin Laden, I will donate one million dollars to ThinkProgress." And yet there's this on Breitbart's Big Peace:

The free world, particularly the United States, has a right to make sure Osama bin Laden is really dead. Every American has a right to walk right up to bin Laden’s corpse and view it. We are entitled to know for a fact that the witch is dead. No shroud for dignity’s sake, please – bin Laden’s naked, bullet-riddled corpse should be put on display in lower Manhattan for all the world to see. WISCONSIN: Andrew Breitbart Tells Pro-Union Protesters To "Go To Hell"

As he prepared to introduce Sarah Palin over the boos of Wisconsin's pro-union protesters, wingnut blogger and GOProud backer Andrew Breitbart told labor supporters, "Go to hell!" Because "class warfare" (which, hello, is what the Tea Party stands for) is "un-American." Raw Story has a much better clip (non-embeddable) taken from the rear of the crowd.

On his way out of a Democratic fundraiser headlined by Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-NC) got physical with a student journalist.

Video posted to YouTube today shows Rep. Bob Etheridge, D-NC, tussling with two men who approached him on a sidewalk asking about his support for the Obama administration. One of the men, who identifies himself as a student, asks, "Do you fully support the Obama agenda?" Etheridge responds by asking three times, "Who are you?" The man says, "I'm here for a project, sir." The congressman swats at the camera and grabs the man's wrist at 0:23, refusing to let go. When the student declines to say which university he is affiliated with, the congressman grabs the man by his neck at 0:44 before finally letting go.

The video was posted to the YouTube channel of Larry O'Connor, who blogs at right-winger Andrew Breitbart's Big Journalism and hosts a conservative internet radio show. It's not clear if O'Connor sent the students to confront Etheridge. It's a pretty creepy clip. Pam Spaulding thinks Etheridge should be arrested.
