- Soap opera stars will join Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS for their spring gala at Town Hall. Scheduled to appear: Cameron Mathison, Anthony Geary, the cast of The View, others. Get tickets here.
- Rosie O'Donnell plays Town Hall tonight as part of the New York Comedy Festival. Get tickets here.
- The delay-plagued Spider-Man has pushed back opening day yet again, this time to January 11th, missing the entire (and very lucrative) holiday box office.

Broadway Friday

-Next Sunday (Sept. 12) La Cage Aux Folles lead Kelsey Grammer hosts the annual Broadway On Broadway spectacular in which the casts of more than two dozen hit Broadway shows perform for free in Times Square to the accompaniment of a 30-piece orchestra. Arrive by 11am (or earlier) for a good view as Times Square will be mobbed blocks deep in front of the stage. Jay-Z and Alicia Keyes will perform New York State Of Mind for the finale.
-AbFab's Jennifer Saunders is collaborating with Mamma Mia! mastermind Judy Cramer on Spice Girls: The Musical, which "won't be a tribute or bio show, nor will it feature characters with any of the names of the famous five-piece." OK, then.

-Stephen Sondheim's 1981 bomb Merrily We Roll Along opens tonight at Fire Island Pine's Whyte Hall. Get tickets here.
-The Broadway debut of the WWII gay love story Yank! has been postponed until the fall of 2011. The show played Off Broadway last year to (mostly) rave reviews.
-Kenny Solms' gay comedy/musical It Must Be Him opened Off Broadway this week at Playwrights Horizon. Emmy nominee Peter Scolari (Newhart) stars. Get tickets here.
-Prostitution whores! On Thursday the cast of Real Housewives Of New Jersey kicked off a four night sold-out appearance in Off Broadway's My Big Gay Italian Wedding. Teresa Giudice, Ashley Holmes, Jacqueline Laurita, Caroline Manzo and Lauren Manzo return to the show for four more appearances beginning on October 20th. Get tickets here.

Pee-Wee Herman On The View
Comedian Paul Reubens appeared in character as Pee-wee Herman on today's episode of The View to promote his coming Broadway show, which opens in October. It's hard to believe Reubens is 57, he's hardly changed in the 28 years since his stage show first ran in Los Angeles.

Broadway Friday

- Beefcake-O-Rama! Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will stage Broadway Bares: Classic on June 6th at Splash Bar. Scheduled to perform: Jerry Mitchell, Jennifer Cody, Steve Geary, Sebastian LaCause, and others. Tickets for Broadway Bares 20: Strip-Opoly are on sale now.
-The password is "Dirty Sanchez." Saved By The Bell's Dustin Diamond will join the cast of Off Broadway's Awesome 80's Prom beginning tonight.
-Probably not loverly. Sony Pictures is moving forward with the fifth remake of My Fair Lady. Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan is set to star.

-Dolphins are just gay sharks. The first season of Glee will be released on DVD on September 14th. The set will feature sing-along karaoke, behind-the-scenes extras, and several unaired editions of Sue's Corner.
-I love that dress every time you wear it. The revival of Ragtime has been stripped of its 2010 Tony nomination for Best Costumes because the designs are essentially the same as those used in the 1998 production. There will be no replacement nominee.
-But who will play Ping Pong Lady? Will Swenson and Tony Sheldon will star as Mitzi and Bernadette (respectively) for the Broadway transfer of the West End smash musical version of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Felicia has not yet been cast. The show will run in Toronto beginning in October before opening in the spring on Broadway.
