This Is An Ad For Lube

Copyranter notes: "That's rather ambitious. Ad is for the Try® brand of lubricating gel. Translation: 'Try intimate lubricant gel.' It ran in [France's] free gay magazine Sensitif."

Rush Limbaugh's Tucson Billboard

Copyranter notes: "It's actually been there for quite some time. I know, because my girlfriend's mother lives in Tucson. It's of course via the radio station, not Limbaugh. Though, I'm sure he—or his "people"—had to approve it before it was erected."

Lady Gaga's Meat Book

Copyranter notes that Lady Gaga's biography is being promoted in Australia's meat cases. OK, then.

Mustaches Make A Difference

Movember is the global cancer awareness campaign in which participants grow mustaches to draw attention to men's cancers. Copyranter tips us to the above image being used in Singapore's prostate cancer campaign. Hit the link for more images of the famously mustachioed and what they'd look like clean-shaven.

Today In 9/11 Exploitation

Copyranter goes off:
"Learn to anticipate." Courrier International, a Paris-based weekly (tagline: Anticipate Daily), solves 9/11 after the fact: the World Trade Center architects should have stopped at about 50 floors. Look! The hijacked planes missed the shorter targets. Yay! Viva la Photoshop! Viva la Idiocy! Remember the Maginot Line! Ad by Saatchi & Saatchi France.
Extra points for the timing.

EGYPT: Homo-Erotic Coke Ad?

Copyranter notes: "First of all, congratulations Egyptians on finally getting the convenience of soda bottles with twist-off caps. And secondly, homo-erotic humor on TV in morally repressed Egypt! Brave of the ad agency, Cairo's Fortune Promoseven, since the country has a de facto ban on homosexuality."

Karate Lessons Will Butch Up Your Nellie Son, Says Florida Martial Arts Academy

Above is one of the images from an ad campaign for the Academy Of Martial Arts in Key Biscayne, Florida. Via Copyranter:
Yeah, Pops. Nip that gaiety in the ass, and get junior kicking some ass and karate-chopping some wood, all while listening to Eye of the motherfucking Tiger. That'll knock those show tunes out of his head and some sense into him. Other tips: Make him change the oil in your pickup, naked. And take him deer hunting, naked. Better yet, queer hunting. You and your drinking buds can go to a local Miami gay bar and show him how to pound the dust out of some fairies, who hopefully haven't taken martial arts classes at Key Biscayne's RDCA.
And if karate doesn't work, you can always beat him to death for acting like a girl.

A Gay Pride Message To Toronto From Ontario's Liquor Control Board

Copyranter reacts: "Wow, pretty racy copy from a conservative government agency. But why not? Shitfaced is shitfaced. Sales tax is sales tax. Gay Pride Week in Toronto—like everywhere—begins June 25th. So the LCBO, via ad agency GLP, placed this ad in Toronto's annual pride guide. The guppies reference, and the closing spritzer line are pretty stupid. But otherwise, especially when you remember that this is a government ad, not bad."

The Pink Re-Gifter

Copyranter dissects this ad from Dylan Fabric Dye:
Twink gives Sugar Daddy puffy shirt with doily collar for Valentine's Day. Sugar Daddy dyes shirt pink and re-gifts it to Twink for their anniversary. Look at Twink's face, look at his hair. Look at the way Sugar Daddy is holding his champagne glass. Jam the stereotyping into that layout.
You'll have to embiggen the photo for full gayness.

Tears For Ricky Martin

Copyranter reports that a South African ad agency is using Ricky Martin's coming out to plug their line of tear-proof mascara.
Our tactical ad was an immediate response to the high level of local and international coverage given to this piece of showbiz news last week. We wanted to offer young female fans a quirky, tongue in cheek solution to the announcement in a ‘tear proof’ mascara.
It's unclear whether the usage of Martin's name is legal.
